OPPO Reno15 F 5G Review: Big Battery, AMOLED Display and 80W Charging
Our OPPO Reno15 F 5G review examines its 7,000mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED display, cameras, Snapdragon performance, AI features, limitations and price.

The OPPO Reno15 F 5G takes a fairly practical approach to the mid-range smartphone market. Rather than competing on flagship processing power or an elaborate camera system, it combines a large battery, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, fast charging and a 50MP front camera in a phone designed for everyday use.
Announced as part of OPPO's Reno15 series in January 2026, the Reno15 F sits below the more expensive Reno15 and Reno15 Pro models. It retains several features that make the family attractive to content creators, including portrait photography tools, AI-assisted editing and a display suited to watching and creating content.
The battery is arguably its strongest selling point. The Nigerian retail version has a 7,000mAh battery and 80W SUPERVOOC charging. However, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor is not a flagship chipset, and the rear camera arrangement relies on a conventional main sensor, an ultrawide camera and a basic macro camera.
For buyers considering a phone in this price category, the question is whether its endurance and everyday features justify the asking price.

Design and build quality
The Reno15 F follows OPPO's familiar approach to smartphone design, with a large front display, a relatively slim chassis and a decorative rear camera housing. At around 195–202g, depending on the colour, it is not an especially light device. Its 6.57-inch screen also means that users with smaller hands may need both hands for some tasks.
The more interesting feature is its water and dust resistance. OPPO's specified version carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering protection against dust and different forms of water exposure under the relevant laboratory conditions. These ratings do not make the phone indestructible or guarantee protection against every liquid or situation. Water resistance can also deteriorate with wear and accidental damage.

A 120Hz AMOLED display for everyday entertainment
The 6.57-inch AMOLED panel has a resolution of 2372 × 1080 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. For everyday use, that is a sensible combination. Text should appear sharp, while the high refresh rate can make scrolling through social media feeds and navigating compatible applications feel smoother than on a conventional 60Hz screen.
AMOLED technology also gives the display deep blacks and strong contrast, making it suitable for films, photographs and streaming. OPPO Reno15 F has a high-brightness mode of up to 1,400 nits. That should help with outdoor visibility, although actual brightness depends on the content, ambient light and operating conditions.
The limitation is that a 120Hz display does not guarantee flagship-level gaming performance. The processor and the capabilities of each game still determine how smoothly demanding titles run.
Battery life and charging
The 7,000mAh battery is the Reno15 F's strongest features. It gives the phone a larger energy reserve than many smartphones built around 5,000mAh batteries. That should appeal to commuters, students, remote workers and anyone who spends long periods away from a charging point.
The 80W SUPERVOOC system is another advantage. It is designed to replenish the battery faster than ordinary low-wattage charging, although actual charging time depends on temperature, battery level and the supplied compatible charger.
There is a trade-off: the large battery contributes to the phone's weight, and its capacity alone cannot establish how many hours it will last. Mobile signal strength, gaming, camera use, screen brightness and background applications all affect endurance.

Cameras: a strong selfie specification, but a basic rear setup
The front camera is one of the Reno15 F's more appealing features. It uses a 50MP sensor with autofocus and a wide field of view, making it useful for selfies, group photographs and video calls.
Autofocus is particularly helpful because it allows the camera to adjust focus rather than relying on a fixed focal distance. At the back, the phone has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera.
The main camera has the most practical role here. Optical stabilisation can help reduce blur from hand movement, particularly in lower light. The ultrawide gives users more room for group shots and landscapes, while the macro camera offers close-up photography.
The weaker point is versatility. The phone does not have a dedicated telephoto camera, and the 2MP macro sensor is a basic addition rather than a major selling point. Although OPPO promotes AI-assisted photography across the Reno15 family, buyers should not assume every advanced camera feature available on the Pro models is included on the Reno15 F.
Performance, software and AI features
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is a mid-range processor. It is designed for everyday applications, multitasking, browsing, messaging, video streaming and moderate gaming rather than sustained flagship-level workloads.
For most routine tasks, the chipset should be adequate. However, buyers who frequently play demanding games at high graphics settings or edit large video projects should consider a more powerful alternative.
The phone runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. OPPO's software includes AI-oriented tools such as AI Mind Space, which is designed to capture and organise information, alongside translation, recording and writing assistance in supported markets.
These features can be useful for people who regularly handle documents, meetings and digital content. Their availability may vary by region, language and software version, so buyers should check which functions are enabled on their specific device.
OPPO also says it has a five-year Fluency Protection certification for the Reno15 F. This should not be confused with a guarantee of five major Android upgrades; buyers should confirm the model's explicit operating-system and security-update policy.
OPPO Reno15 F price in Nigeria
SLOT Nigeria lists the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version at ₦699,900. That is a useful retail reference, although prices can change and other sellers may offer different configurations or warranty arrangements.
At this price, the battery, AMOLED screen, 80W charging and water-resistance ratings form the main case for buying the phone. Its Snapdragon processor and relatively simple secondary cameras are less compelling if performance or photography is your highest priority.
Before paying, confirm the storage configuration, warranty, charger included in the box and whether the device is the official regional version.
Verdict
The OPPO Reno15 F 5G is best understood as an endurance-focused mid-range smartphone rather than a camera flagship.
Its 7,000mAh battery, 80W charging, 120Hz AMOLED display and 50MP autofocus selfie camera make it a credible option for users who spend much of the day on their phones. The water and dust resistance ratings add useful protection for everyday ownership.
The compromises are the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor and the limited versatility of the rear camera system. Buyers who prioritise demanding gaming or zoom photography may find better alternatives at a similar price.
For Nigerian buyers, the ₦699,900 listing makes the Reno15 F worth comparing against other large-battery 5G phones before making a decision. Its appeal is strongest for people who value battery capacity, a good-sized AMOLED display and fast charging more than flagship performance.
