Oraimo Watch Nova 2 Air vs Apple Watch Series 11

Can a ₦50,900 smartwatch realistically compete with an Apple Watch costing more than ₦700,000? That's the interesting question behind the Oraimo Watch Nova 2 Air vs Apple Watch Series 11 comparison.

The answer depends on what you actually need from a smartwatch. Oraimo gives the Nova 2 Air a 1.95-inch AMOLED display, Bluetooth calling, 140+ sports modes, health monitoring and up to 12 days of typical battery life. Apple counters with significantly more sophisticated health sensors, standalone GPS, a mature app ecosystem, advanced safety features and much tighter iPhone integration.

Nova 2 Air Offers a Lot for ₦50,900

The biggest surprise is how much Oraimo provides at its price. The Watch Nova 2 Air OSW-814S costs ₦50,900 on Oraimo's Nigerian store, while another Nigerian retailer currently lists it at ₦50,525. Its 1.95-inch curved AMOLED display has a 410 × 502 resolution and reaches up to 1,000 nits. Oraimo protects it with Panda Glass and uses a metal frame around the display.

The Series 11 is considerably more sophisticated, however. Apple's Always-On Retina LTPO3 OLED reaches 2,000 nits, drops as low as one nit and uses tougher Ion-X glass on aluminum models or sapphire crystal on titanium versions.

Apple Dominates Health Tracking

Both watches monitor heart rate and blood oxygen, and Oraimo adds female-health tracking. The Nova 2 Air also provides 24-hour monitoring through the Oraimo Health app. But Apple operates in another class here. Series 11 includes an electrical heart sensor, third-generation optical heart sensor, blood-oxygen sensor and temperature sensor. Depending on regional availability, its software supports ECG, irregular-rhythm notifications, sleep stages, sleep score, sleep-apnea notifications and hypertension notifications.

Oraimo's measurements should be considered general wellness information rather than medical diagnosis.

Oraimo Destroys Apple on Battery Life

This is where the comparison flips. Oraimo puts a 300mAh battery inside the Nova 2 Air and advertises up to 12 days of typical use or 26 days on standby. Charging takes approximately three hours.

Apple Watch Series 11 manages up to 24 hours of normal use or 38 hours in Low Power Mode. Its advantage is charging speed: Apple says it can reach 80% in approximately 30 minutes. So Apple charges dramatically faster, but Oraimo potentially lasts many times longer between charges.

Fitness: 140+ Modes vs Serious Sports Tracking

Oraimo advertises more than 140 sports modes, covering activities from running to yoga. Outdoor route tracking is also available when the watch is connected to your smartphone. That last point matters: the Nova 2 Air doesn't advertise standalone GPS.

Apple does. Series 11 includes GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou. Its Workout app also provides features such as heart-rate zones, training load, custom workouts, running dynamics, automatic track detection, cycling metrics and open-water swimming.

For casual exercise, Oraimo is more than adequate. Serious runners and athletes will get substantially more from Apple.

Both Can Handle Calls

The Nova 2 Air supports wireless Bluetooth calling, letting you answer calls from your wrist while connected to your smartphone. It also includes Oraimo AI, AI-generated watch faces, 160+ downloadable faces and even built-in mini-games.

Apple goes considerably further with Siri, notifications, apps, Apple Pay, Emergency SOS, Fall Detection and Crash Detection. Cellular Series 11 configurations can also operate far more independently from an iPhone where supported. That independence is something the Oraimo can't match.

The Price Difference Is Enormous

This may decide the comparison before specifications do. The Nova 2 Air costs ₦50,900 from Oraimo's Nigerian store. At iStore Nigeria, Apple Watch Series 11 currently starts at ₦729,000 for the 42mm aluminum model, while the 46mm Jet Black and Space Grey versions cost ₦799,000. Some 46mm configurations reach ₦849,000. That means you could theoretically buy more than 14 Nova 2 Air watches for the price of one ₦729,000 Series 11.

Of course, that doesn't make them technically equivalent. It demonstrates just how different their target markets are.

Which Should You Buy?

Choose the Oraimo Watch Nova 2 Air if you want an attractive AMOLED smartwatch for calls, notifications, everyday fitness tracking and long battery life without spending heavily. At ₦50,900, it offers exceptional feature-per-naira value.

Choose Apple Watch Series 11 if you own an iPhone and care about accurate standalone GPS, deeper health features, safety functions, apps, swimming, advanced workouts and seamless Apple ecosystem integration.

The Apple Watch is unquestionably the more capable smartwatch. But it costs roughly fourteen times as much.

Final Verdict

The Apple Watch Series 11 wins the technology comparison. Its advanced sensors, standalone GPS, 50m water resistance, safety features, watchOS ecosystem and sophisticated fitness tracking put it well ahead of the Nova 2 Air. But the Oraimo Watch Nova 2 Air wins the value comparison by an enormous margin.

For ₦50,900, you're getting a 1.95-inch AMOLED display, Bluetooth calling, 24-hour heart-rate and blood-oxygen monitoring, 140+ sports modes, AI features, IP68 protection and up to 12 days of typical battery life.

If you simply want a good-looking smartwatch for everyday use, spending an additional ₦678,100 to reach the cheapest current Series 11 isn't easy to justify. If you want a serious health, fitness and iPhone companion, however, Apple Watch Series 11 is in a different league and its price reflects that.
