Samsung Galaxy A07 Review: Price, Specs, Camera and Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy A07 is designed for people who need a straightforward Android phone without paying mid-range or flagship prices. It combines a large 6.7-inch display, 50MP main camera, 5,000mAh battery, expandable storage and 4G connectivity with one advantage that could matter more than raw specifications: unusually long software support for an inexpensive phone.
With the 4GB/128GB version currently selling from around ₦176,995 through Samsung's official Jumia store, the question is whether the Galaxy A07 provides enough hardware to justify its price.

6.7-Inch Display With 90Hz Scrolling

The Galaxy A07 has a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with 1600 × 720 HD+ resolution. Samsung describes the phone as offering a smoother viewing experience, while current retail specifications list a 90Hz refresh rate. The 90Hz refresh rate should make scrolling through social media, websites and menus feel smoother than a traditional 60Hz budget display.

Resolution is the compromise. At 6.7 inches, HD+ isn't particularly sharp compared with Full HD+ screens. There's also no AMOLED panel, so you don't get the deep blacks and contrast associated with Samsung's more expensive Galaxy phones.
For WhatsApp, TikTok, YouTube and general browsing, however, the large screen remains practical.

Helio G99: Good Enough for Everyday Tasks

Samsung uses the MediaTek Helio G99, a 6nm processor that represents a significant performance improvement over the platform used in its previous entry-level generation.
This isn't a gaming flagship, but the chip should comfortably handle everyday activities such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, web browsing, video streaming, banking apps and light gaming.

The biggest consideration is RAM. The inexpensive models commonly available locally have 4GB RAM, so heavy multitasking isn't the Galaxy A07's strength. If you regularly keep numerous demanding apps running simultaneously, you'll want something more powerful.
There's also no 5G. Samsung's official specifications confirm GSM, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity.

50MP Main Camera

Samsung equips the Galaxy A07 with a 50MP f/1.8 main camera alongside a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The main camera includes autofocus and supports digital zoom up to 10x, but there's no optical image stabilization.
Video recording reaches Full HD, while Samsung also lists 120fps slow-motion recording at HD resolution. On the front is an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

For the price, the 50MP main camera should be sufficient for daylight photography, documents, social-media pictures and casual family photos. Just don't buy it expecting flagship night photos, optical zoom or advanced stabilization.

5,000mAh Battery

The 5,000mAh battery is another practical strength. Combined with the HD+ screen and efficient 6nm processor, that capacity should make the A07 suitable for people who need a phone capable of getting through a typical working or school day without constantly looking for a charger.
Samsung's official specification page doesn't provide a specific real-world endurance figure, so we'd avoid promising a fixed number of hours.

Expandable Storage Is a Big Advantage

One feature disappearing from increasingly expensive smartphones is still present here.
The Galaxy A07 has a dedicated microSD slot supporting cards up to 2TB. Better still, Samsung uses separate slots for two Nano SIMs and the microSD card, so you don't have to sacrifice your second SIM to expand storage.
There's also a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS and a fingerprint sensor.
For students and budget-conscious buyers with large offline music or video libraries, these practical features matter.

Long Software Support Could Be Its Best Feature

Perhaps the Galaxy A07's biggest advantage over many similarly priced Android phones isn't visible on the specification sheet. Samsung lists the phone's security-update period as valid until August 31, 2031. That makes the A07 more attractive for someone planning to keep a phone for several years rather than replacing it annually.
Long-term software support is particularly valuable for banking, authentication and other apps where running outdated security software can eventually become problematic.

Galaxy A07 Price

Pricing varies substantially by seller and storage configuration. At the time checked, Samsung's official Jumia store lists a 4GB/128GB Galaxy A07 from ₦176,995, with another official-store listing at ₦198,571.
General Jumia listings put the 4GB/64GB model as low as roughly ₦165,360, while 128GB versions range from around ₦177,000 upward.

Konga currently has a 4GB/128GB version at ₦230,000. For value, the 128GB version around ₦177,000–₦200,000 is the configuration we'd target.

Limitations

The Galaxy A07's compromises are clear. You get 4G instead of 5G, an HD+ LCD rather than Full HD+ AMOLED, no OIS, no telephoto or Ultra Wide camera and relatively modest RAM on entry configurations. Samsung also confirms there's no stereo audio or DeX support.
Buyers prioritizing gaming, advanced cameras or premium displays should look higher in Samsung's Galaxy A lineup.

Final Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy A07 is a sensible budget smartphone rather than an exciting one. Its strongest combination is practicality: a large 90Hz screen, Helio G99 processor, 50MP main camera, 5,000mAh battery, dual SIM, headphone jack, up to 2TB microSD support and Samsung's long software-support commitment.

At around ₦176,995 for 4GB/128GB through Samsung's official Jumia store, it becomes particularly competitive. The Galaxy A07 makes the most sense for students, first-time smartphone buyers, parents, secondary-phone users and anyone who values reliability and long-term software support over 5G or premium camera hardware.

If your budget is around ₦180,000–₦200,000 and you want a Samsung phone that can handle everyday apps without unnecessary extras, the Galaxy A07 deserves a place on your shortlist.
