Switching from an iPhone to Android used to sound like a headache. What happens to your photos? Can you move your messages? What about contacts, passwords, apps and even your eSIM? That process has become considerably easier.

Google and Apple have been working on an upgraded iPhone-to-Android migration system. On supported devices, you can pair your new Android phone with an iPhone by scanning a QR code and transfer data wirelessly. The newer system can move data including photos, contacts, messages, apps, passwords, Wi-Fi information and even your home-screen layout. Supported eSIMs can also be transferred during setup. If you're finally considering leaving the iPhone, these are five Android smartphones worth putting on your shortlist.

1. Google Pixel 10 — Best Overall for iPhone Switchers

If you want the least complicated transition from Apple's ecosystem, the Google Pixel 10 is arguably the first Android phone to consider. Google controls both Android and Pixel hardware, so the experience has some similarities to Apple's approach with the iPhone. The Pixel 10 has a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED display, Google's Tensor G5 processor, 12GB RAM and a triple-camera system consisting of a 48MP main camera, 13MP ultrawide and 10.8MP 5x telephoto. Google also promises seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates.

More importantly for switchers, Google has made iPhone migration a central part of Pixel setup. On Pixel 10 and later, you can pair an iPhone by scanning a QR code and transfer data wirelessly, through a cable, or using a combination of both. Google says supported data includes texts, photos, music, contacts, apps and calendars. Even supported eSIMs can be transferred directly from an iPhone, although carrier compatibility matters.

Best for: Someone who likes the simplicity of an iPhone but wants to experience Android.

2. Samsung Galaxy S26 — Best Premium iPhone Alternative

The Samsung Galaxy S26 is another natural choice for someone leaving an iPhone. Samsung has spent years refining Smart Switch, its migration system for bringing information from another phone. Android's latest upgraded iPhone migration flow is also launching on selected Samsung Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S26 series. The phone itself feels appropriately premium. It has a compact 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and a 4,300mAh battery.

Samsung also includes features that can make the transition from iOS less intimidating, including a polished interface, Samsung Wallet, SmartThings and integration with Galaxy Watches and Galaxy Buds. If you're moving from an iPhone Pro and don't want your new Android device to feel like a downgrade in build quality or features, the S26 is an excellent place to start.

Best for: iPhone users who want a premium Android flagship.

3. POCO F9 Ultra — Best for Performance and Gaming

Maybe you're leaving Apple because you want fewer restrictions and much more hardware for your money. In that case, consider the POCO F9 Ultra.

It uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor alongside a dedicated VisionBoost D8 graphics chipset. Depending on configuration, you can get as much as 16GB RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Then there's the enormous 8,050mAh battery, 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It even supports reverse wired and wireless charging. The display is equally aggressive: a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel capable of reaching 185Hz, while the camera system includes a 200MP main camera and 5x telephoto camera.

For an iPhone user accustomed to comparatively conservative charging speeds and battery capacities, the F9 Ultra demonstrates just how differently Android manufacturers can approach hardware. Xiaomi also provides Mi Mover for transferring data. Xiaomi says the tool supports migration from iPhones to Xiaomi devices, including contacts, messages, photos, videos, music and other personal data, although compatibility varies.

Best for: Gamers, power users and people who want huge battery capacity and very fast charging.

4. Infinix NOTE 60 Pro — Best Value Alternative

The Infinix NOTE 60 Pro is worth considering if you don't want to spend flagship-iPhone money on your next phone. Infinix equips it with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G chipset, a 144Hz 1.5K display, 90W charging and a 6,500mAh battery. That combination makes it attractive for everyday multitasking, streaming and gaming while providing substantially more battery capacity than many compact flagship phones. The biggest adjustment for an iPhone owner will probably be software rather than hardware. Infinix's interface offers considerably more customization than iOS, so expect a short learning curve.

For transferring your information, Google's standard Android switching system can transfer core information from an iPhone to compatible Android phones using a cable or Android Switch. Google lists contacts, photos, messages and other supported data among what can be copied.

Best for: Buyers who want strong hardware without flagship pricing.

5. TECNO CAMON 50 Pro — Best Affordable Camera-Focused Choice

For photography-focused buyers who don't want to jump straight into flagship prices, the TECNO CAMON 50 Pro deserves attention. TECNO gives it a 6.78-inch curved 1.5K AMOLED display running at 144Hz. The camera setup consists of a 50MP main camera with OIS, 50MP 3x telephoto and 8MP ultrawide, plus a 32MP selfie camera. It also has a 6,150mAh battery with 45W charging on the official Nigerian specification page, alongside NFC, dual speakers and Dolby Atmos.

An iPhone switcher gets significantly more control over customization and file management, while still retaining the basic smartphone experiences that matter: good cameras, a quality display, contactless connectivity and plenty of battery capacity.

Best for: Photography enthusiasts looking for a feature-rich Android without buying a flagship.

What Can You Actually Transfer From an iPhone?

Android's switching tools can transfer considerably more than many iPhone owners realize. Depending on the Android phone and transfer method, supported information can include contacts, photos, videos, messages, message attachments, apps, calendars and other device information. The upgraded transfer experience adds m
}ore data types, including passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi login information and certain device settings.

There are still exceptions. For example, Google says Apple passwords don't automatically transfer in every Pixel migration scenario and may require additional steps. Photos stored only in iCloud may also require transferring through Google Photos or Apple's iCloud migration tools.

WhatsApp transfers can require a cable and additional steps. And one particularly important step should not be forgotten:

Turn off iMessage and FaceTime before completing your switch.

Google specifically recommends disabling iMessage so that future messages aren't incorrectly routed to your old Apple setup.

Is Switching From iPhone to Android Still Difficult?

Not nearly as much as it used to be. Android's 2026 upgraded switching experience is particularly important because Google says it was developed with Apple and can migrate significantly more information wirelessly. The rollout begins with Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices before expanding further.

Apple has also adopted RCS, making everyday messaging between Android and iPhone users considerably less awkward than it once was. That doesn't mean everything in Apple's ecosystem follows you. Apple-specific purchases, some app data and certain ecosystem features will remain tied to Apple.

Which Android Phone Should an iPhone User Buy?

If you want the smoothest transition, choose the Google Pixel 10. If you want the closest premium alternative to an iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy S26 is our pick. Choose the POCO F9 Ultra if performance, gaming, charging speed and battery life matter most. The Infinix NOTE 60 Pro makes more sense if you want strong specifications for your money, while the TECNO CAMON 50 Pro is an interesting option for buyers prioritizing cameras and display quality.

Final Verdict

Switching from an iPhone to Android no longer means manually rebuilding your digital life from scratch. Google's latest migration system can bring over many of the things that make your old phone feel personal from photos and messages to passwords, apps and supported eSIMs.

For most iPhone switchers, Pixel 10 and Galaxy S26 are the safest starting points because their current migration support is particularly strong. But Android's real advantage is choice. You can prioritize Google's clean software, Samsung's premium ecosystem, POCO's extreme performance, Infinix's value or TECNO's camera hardware. And that may be the biggest difference you'll notice after leaving the iPhone: instead of choosing which iPhone fits you, you can choose which kind of Android phone fits you.
